The Mandarin drama competition serves a platform for Mandarin language learners to promote and demonstrate creative ideas in their work. In order to encourage and motivate students to discover more Chinese language and culture and to use Mandarin outside classroom, second-year of FPBU students and Mandarin Unit under Faculty of Major Language Studies organized first Mandarin Drama Competition on 14th of December 2019. The Competition was supervised by Madam Suo YanJu.
The theme of Mandarin drama competition was “Learning Mandarin through stage performance”. There were 16 teams competing for three prizes. Each team had to put up an act of around 10-15 minutes. The jusdegement was done on the basis of acting, dialogue delivery and language fluency. Evaluating the amazing particitpants was a difficult task due to the wonderful performance put up by the participating teams.
The dean of the faculty Associate Professor Dr. Nurkhamimi Zainuddin presented prizes to the winners and wished the more programme could be organized in the future to engage students in foreign language learning outside classroom. The students and lecturers of Mandarin unit played a stellar role in the organization and administration of this competition.
